Portrait Photography: La mode des années 60's

Portrait Photography: La mode des années 60's

The 1960's was the decade of Twiggy, Mary Quant and mini skirts, the 60's is my favourite era purely as the style suits me and reflects my personality entirely. I love how music and fashion stood hand in hand also. It was the era of French films becoming mainstream and the fashion world rapidly changing.

Such cover girls as Jean Shrimpton & Patti Boyd were style icons of their time. I decided to take inspiration from them when attempting such portrait photography.
In this post, I will give you some styles of the 60's and how to replicate them and where to find them now.
The French beret began a revival in the 1960's due to the interest in French new wave film. Here's three that you can buy currently.

The shift dress and baby doll dress are a style staple of the 60's despite the 60's being a heavily patterned era, darker colours in a modern context work just as well,
